To qualify for Full membership:
  • You must possess a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence issued by the Minister of Transport for any one of the following categories:
    • Category "M" - Aeroplanes, Gliders and Rotorcraft
    • Category "E" - Avionics Systems
    • Category "S" - Structures
    • Category "P" - Propulsion Systems
  • You must be actively engaged in the aviation industry in a private enterprise business, a department of private industry or an organization of government.
  • You must apply for and be approved for membership by the Directors.
  • You must pay the annual fee for membership.

Associate Membership

CA$70.00 / Year
Annual Membership
Any person who is not licensed as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer may be eligible for Associate Membership. You must apply, and your membership will be reviewed and may approved at a Directors' Meeting.
To qualify for Associate Membership:
  • You must have been actively engaged in an engineering capacity, or an associated trade or profession within the aviation industry, or you must previously have been the holder of a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's licence (Category "M", "E", "S", or "P") and now still be actively engaged in the aviation industry.
  • You must apply for and be approved for membership by the Directors.
  • You must pay the annual fee for membership.

Associate Members have the right to attend and speak at all membership meetings, but are not entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association.

Apprentice Membership

CA$35.00 / Year
Annual Membership
Any person who is not licensed as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by the Minister of Transport may be eligible for Apprentice Membership, provided that such applicant:
  1. Is currently enrolled in an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course at a technical school, community college, or similar institution which is recognized by the Minister of Transport, or similar institution and which is recognized by the Minister of Transport.
    or
  2. Is employed as an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer under the supervision of a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or a company approved by the Minister of Transport for this purpose.

You must make an application, containing information confirming that you are an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

Apprentice members have the right to attend and speak at all membership meetings, but are not entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association.

Apprentice membership will be terminated if at any time after you qualify for this membership type, you qualify to join AME as a Full Member or an Associate Member. This would normally occur after a maximum of a four year period as an Apprentice member.

Student Membership

CA$35.00 / Year
Annual Membership
Any person who is not licensed as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by the Minister of Transport may be eligible for Student Membership, provided that such applicant:
  1. Is currently enrolled in an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course at a technical school, community college, or similar institution which is recognized by the Minister of Transport, or similar institution and which is recognized by the Minister of Transport.
    or
  2. Is employed as an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer under the supervision of a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or a company approved by the Minister of Transport for this purpose.

You must make an application, containing information confirming that you are a student enrolled in a recognized Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's course, or that you are an apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

Sign Up as a Company

Corporate Membership

CA$275.00 / Year
Annual Membership
Any firm or corporation supporting the objectives of the Association which is actively involved in the aviation industry (whether or not it is a corporation approved by the Minister of Transport to provide aircraft maintenance engineering services) may apply for membership as a Corporate Member.
A representative of a corporate member has the right to attend and speak at all membership meetings, but is not entitled to vote or to hold office in the Association.
Corporate Members are entitled to advertise that they are members of AME.
You must apply, and your membership will be reviewed and may approved at a Directors' Meeting.
You must pay an initiation fee and the annual fee for membership.
